Handbooks
This c.1908, 159 page, Ensign handbook was printed and published in London. It contains all kinds of helpful photography instructions as well as a complete Ensign product catalog with prices. The drawing (above right) of the woman and camera is repeated on the front and back endpapers.

Harrington's Handbook of Photography, published in 1916, was "wholly set up and printed in Australia." It's a thorough, 250 page, guide for the amateur photographer. The cameras described look like Kodaks but have odd names like "Klito" and "Sanderson". Both the handbook and the cameras seem to be knockoffs from Down Under.

Like the Ensign Handbook, a motif of a woman with camera is repeated on the front and back endpapers.

Classic graphics of the period appear on the cover of this Popular Photography Handbook from 1951. The woman posing with the camera is more model than photographer.
