Other Doll
Photographers
Many "fashion" dolls followed in Barbie's footsteps with their own impressive arrays of accessories including cameras. Like real cameras these minis came in varying quality ranging from cheaply molded plastic to Tammy's highly detailed metal and glass, made-in-Japan 35mm. Doll cameras were usually associated with vacation travel rather than careers. None of the other fashion dolls could compete with Barbie over time. They now survive only in the collections, memories and websites of the women who once played with them. |
Tressy by American Character 1965
Tressy was a fashion doll
similar to Barbie but with hair that "grew" if you turned the crank in her back
with the key provided. |
