1886 Engraving
Amateur Photography by a Lady

This series of drawings which appeared in the 1886 Graphic, depicts the trials and tribulations of a photo shoot. The captions read as follows: 1.Arrival of the Camera 2.Focussing the Model 3.Picture Without Words 4. Darkroom--A Witch's Caldron 5.A Blank 6.Quite Done Up (sign reads: Camera 2nd hand, slightly damaged, to be sold cheap, inquire within.") As a working photographer, I have no trouble relating to this story of an assignment where everything possible goes wrong.
